Ingredients for chole bhature recipe 

For chickpeas:

- 2 cups chickpeas, soaked overnight
- 2 medium sized onions, finely chopped
- 2 medium sized tomatoes, pureed
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- salt as per taste
- 2 tablespoon oil
- fresh coriander

For Bhature:

- 2 cups white flour(maida)
- 1 cup curd
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- salt as per taste
- Oil (for frying)

Method for making Chole:

Step 1:
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When it crackles, add finely chopped onions and green chilies. Keep stirring till the onions turn golden.

Step 2:
Add ginger-garlic paste and when the raw smell goes away, add tomato puree and cook for a few minutes till the oil separates.

Step 3:
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and salt to taste. Mix the spices well.

Step 4:

Add the soaked chickpeas and mix well with the spices.

Step 5:

Add water according to the chickpeas. Let it cook on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes so that the flavors of the spices get mixed well.

Step 6:
After the chickpeas are done, put green coriander over it and turn off the gas.

Method to make Bhature:

Step 1:
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

Step 2:

Add curd gradually and knead the mixture to make a soft dough. Add water if required.

Step 3:
Cover the dough with a wet cloth and leave it for 2 hours to ferment.

Step 4:

After 2 hours, take out a small piece from the dough, make a ball and roll it like a poori, if the dough is wet, you can roll it by patting it with your hands.

Step 5:

Heat oil in a deep pan. When the oil becomes hot, put the bhatura in the oil with light hands.

Step 6:
Fry the bhatura till it turns light brown and puffs up from both the sides.

Step 7:
Take out the fried bhaturas and keep them in a plate.

Step 8:

is ready, now serve hot in a plate.
