Ingredients for pav bhaji recipe

For Bhaji:

- 3 medium sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 cup cauliflower, thinly sliced
- 1 cup green peas
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
- 1 green capsicum, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
- 2 teaspoon pav bhaji masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt as per taste
- fresh coriander

For Pav:

- 8 pav buns
- 2 tablespoon butter

Pav bhaji recipe 

Step 1:
Heat the oil and butter in a large pan or deep skillet over medium heat. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes till it turns aromatic.

Step 2:
Add chopped onions and cook till they turn golden brown. Then, add chopped tomatoes, cook them till soft and mushy.

Step 3:
Add chopped capsicum and cook till they turn slightly soft.

Step 4:

Now, add chopped cauliflower florets and green peas. Mix well and cook for about 5-7 minutes till the vegetables are half cooked.

Step 5:
Add grated potatoes to the pan and mix everything. Vegetables and use a potato masher or spoon to mix them well.

Step 6:
After that add pav bhaji masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt as per taste to the vegetable. Mix well so that the spices mix evenly.

Step 7:
Lower the flame, cover the pan and let the mixture cook for about 10-15 minutes.

Till then prepare pav buns. Cut each bun in half (one side should be attached).

Step 9:
Heat a tawa or pan and put some butter on it. Place the pav buns on a tawa, cut side down, and toast them till they turn golden and crisp.

Step 10:
When the bhaji is fully cooked, remove the lid and mix it well. Mix by adding little water if necessary. The natural form of bhaji should be thick, with little gravy.

Step 11:
Garnish the hot pav bhaji with fresh coriander in a plate or bowl. And put some butter on it for taste.

Serve hot with fried pav, chopped onions and lemon in a plate with bhaji.
